Insurance and Protection Policy

At Lift & Shift Movers, your peace of mind matters. While we take every precaution to move your belongings safely, we also carry comprehensive insurance coverage to protect you in the rare event something goes wrong.

Public Liability Insurance

Protects against injury or damage caused to third parties or their property during the course of our moving services.

Limit of Liability: Up to $8 million
Includes:
- Injury to clients or members of the public during the move
- Damage to third-party property (excluding your goods in transit)
- Legal expenses related to such claims

Goods in Transit Insurance

Covers your items while in our care — from loading to transport to unloading.

Limit Per Load: $100,000
Includes:
- Accidental damage
- Fire or theft
- Vehicle accident
- Fragile item protection (if packed by our team)
Exclusions:
- Items with pre-existing damage
- Poorly packed items (if packed by you)
- Jewellery, cash, or important documents (unless declared and approved in advance)

Fragile Items Coverage

To ensure fragile items (e.g., glassware, electronics, artwork) are protected:

You must declare them in advance
They must be professionally packed by our team
If you pack them yourself without appropriate protection, they may not be covered

Client Responsibilities

To ensure your coverage is valid, please:

Declare fragile or high-value items before your move
Let us professionally pack delicate goods (or meet agreed packing standards)
Consider additional insurance if required
Read and accept your Service Agreement prior to moving day

Claims Process

If damage or injury occurs, follow these steps:

Notify us within 24 hours
Provide photo evidence and details of the incident
Submit a damage report or supporting documents (e.g., medical evidence, photos)
Cooperate with any follow-up investigation if needed
